TRANSCEND-XR launches World Café discussions as part of the EU Cancer Mission

29 January 2026

The EU-funded project TRANSCEND-XR, which the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) is proud to be a partner of, is beginning a series of World Café discussions — small, facilitated online conversations that bring together young testicular cancer survivors and their loved ones to help shape a new educational digital tool for life after cancer.

Survivorship extends far beyond treatment. Understanding late effects, emotional well-being, and practical challenges requires listening directly to those with lived experience.

The World Café sessions are a key co-creation activity within the TRANSCEND-XR project, ensuring that its extended reality (XR) educational tool is based on real needs and perspectives. These discussions contribute to the objectives of the EU Cancer Mission by promoting patient-centred innovation and meaningful citizen engagement in research and innovation.

Sessions begin this month and will continue into the Spring. We are currently recruiting participants living in: Ireland, the UK, France, Croatia, Slovakia, the Netherlands, and Italy.
