More than 12 million cancer survivors are expected to live in Europe—and many of them hope to return to work. But finding a way back into the workplace is not always straightforward.
To mark International Workers’ Day (1 May 2025), the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) is raising awareness about the real-world challenges faced by cancer patients and survivors wanting to return to work. By sharing the voices of survivors, patients, and experts, we aim to shine a light on the effects of cancer on patients in the workforce, and how employers can support employees diagnosed with cancer.
