Overweight and obesity are a major risk factor for cancer, responsible for an estimated half-a-million new cancer cases globally in 2012. The MEPs Against Cancer interest group, in partnership with the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL), are hosting an event in the European Parliament to call attention to the urgent need for EU-wide action.
