Stakeholder Platform

Why

The issue of access to medicines is vital for all cancer patients, and therefore for all cancer control organisations. As the Task Force commenced its work on access, we believe it is essential to stay connected and aligned with other big actors in the field. We believe that a coalition of like-minded NGOs would strengthen the capability and impact of the Task Force.

Who

The Stakeholder Platform connects organizations with expertise on- and an interest in access. Representatives from NGOs working on access issues for cancer and other patients who are not members of ECL can become the ECL Access to Medicines Task Force’s partners within this Platform.

What

The Stakeholder Platform shall provide the Task Force with advice on their actions and strategy – making sure the Task Force does not work in isolation, and is well connected and up to date on other access initiatives. Platform partners shall inform the Task Force on opportunities related to the goals of the Task Force.

How

The Task Force Chair, Co-Chair and the ECL Secretariat shall be in contact with the Platform partners every quarter of a year. The Platform partners shall (i) provide input on the Task Force (working groups) initiatives; (ii) share their activities on access; and (iii) explore potential for shared action/projects (e.g. events participation, press releases etc.).
