Meritxell is a soon-to-graduate medical student at University of Barcelona in pursuance of a multidisciplinary career in oncology research and global health diplomacy. During her studies, she has been engaged in a variety of internships and in local, national and international projects led by the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA). She currently works as a Research Associate for the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) and will soon defend her master thesis on the topic of breast cancer and brain metastasis, for which she received a scholarship from the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC).
Guided by Marmot’s words “why treat people only to send them back to the conditions that made them sick in the first place?”, Meritxell is excited to advocate for better preventative measures and raise awareness of European Code Against Cancer in Catalonia and beyond.
