Kazakhstan

Madina has an MD degree and is currently working in the republican center for health development of the Ministry of health of Republic of Kazakhstan. She has worked on a project looking at triple negative breast cancer among Kazakh women by identifying the frequency of this subtype using immunohistochemistry and staining. She has also organised a TEDx event and worked on a retrospective study of breast cancer frequency in Astana. As an ECL Youth Ambassador, she aims to raise awareness about health and wellness preventative measures in Kazakhstan. Madina says “given the well‐documented relationship between lifestyle, cancer burden and healthcare costs, it makes economic and medical sense to instill healthy living into people from a young age”.
