
Ivonne is ECL’s Communications and Events Officer. She leads ECL’s strategic communications activities that support the organisation’s mission to make a difference in cancer control and care across Europe.
Ivonne brings over a decade of experience in communications, specialising in health-related campaigns and digital and social media. Between 2015 and 2024, Ivonne worked at the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL), a Brussels-based not-for-profit addressing how pollution in the environment affects health. During her time at HEAL, she contributed to the development of impactful communications and advocacy initiatives aimed at preventing disease and reducing people’s exposure to harmful chemicals such as PFAS and endocrine disruptors. Her experience also extends to the field of science communications, having contributed to EU-funded research projects related to environmental health.
Ivonne holds a Master’s degree in European Studies from the University of Maastricht, where she specialised in public policy and administration, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in European Studies from Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in Maastricht.
