Gita is currently a 4th year medical student in the Riga Stradins University. Besides her studies Gita is a board member of Latvian Medical Students’ Association where she mainly works as the national officer of standing committee on reproductive health incl. HIV/AIDS (SCORA for short) to raise awareness about safe sex and sexual health, gender equality and STIs. But as a board member she deals with organisational, political and international matters as well.
Moreover, she is working in an Oncology Institution under a project regarding breast cancer research and on the weekends Gita works in first aid points with Latvian Lifesaving society in different marathons and summer festivals.
During free time Gita enjoys travelling, concerts and sport activities (running and SUP are her two favourites).
