Alba joined the field of public health after realizing that, when we talk about health, citizens often do not play a central role.
Alba holds a BA in Law and Political Sciences, an MA in European Studies, and an ML in Legal Practice. She has also conducted research on Regulation 1169/2011, focusing on food stakeholders and allergen labelling under the Food Information to Consumers legislation. Her journey in Brussels began with a traineeship at the European Parliament, followed by an EIT Food Fellowship at EuroFIR, where she worked in food composition and Open Science. She went on to serve as policy officer for Healthy Environments at the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA), advocating for better health for all. Alba is also a Member of WHO Technical Advisory Group on Brand Marketing and restricting its use in the marketing of unhealthy foods to children.
As part of the ECL team, she is working on cancer prevention and survivorship.
In her free time, Alba enjoys cooking paellas, reading, attempting to tame her cat, and exploring the endless wonders of Belgian culture.
